Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000

As Our Founder Jim Moran said, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it.” At the Youth Automotive Training Center (YATC), a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, we work hard to ensure students receive the instruction, care, and attention they need to fulfill their potential and take the first steps toward the future they are ready to build. The mission of the Youth Automotive Training Center is to train and educate at-risk youth in basic automotive repair skills, academic remediation, job readiness and life management skills. The goal of this program is to prepare young adults who are at a disadvantage in their lives to become self-sufficient, productive, law-abiding citizens.
Executive Director’s Primary Purpose
Oversee all aspects of the development, implementation, and management of the YATC Program. Serve as Executive Director and work with the Board of Directors and staff to support all students. Maintain the YATC mission and vision, develop curriculum, oversee staff, manage contracts and budgets, help to coordinate, and advocate for the students and alumni. Assist with the preparation of and provide support for Board of Director meetings and needs. Prioritize inquiries and requests, track high level relationships and correspondence, and troubleshoot conflicts, and make judgments and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in an educational and/ or social work setting
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must have a minimum of 5 year’s automotive repair/service experience and be Master ASE Certified
- Supervisory experience of small to medium teams
- Experience in fiscal/budget management, data reporting, and management information systems
- Demonstrated competence in program development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation
- Working knowledge of local youth service organizations
- Minimum of 5 years working with nonprofit board(s) – serving on, coordinating with, reporting to, or communicating with on a regular basis
- Excellent customer service and general communication skills
- 5-7 years responsible and ethical leadership, directing successful teams and accountable for meeting objectives
- Skill and ability communicating with a diverse range of ethnic and economic demographics
- Accuracy, detail-oriented & organized
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Prior work with budget preparation and management
- Ability to safely lift and position up to 50 lbs
- Prior experience managing teams
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of school organization, operations, and administrative policies
- Knowledge, skill, and ability to develop, execute and implement plans for special events, professional development, and trainings

Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Articulate the Youth Automotive Training Center Vision, Mission, and Objectives to staff, students, families, and community leaders to generate support
- Maintain the YATC mission statement, visionary strategy, and innovative thinking while overseeing day-to-day operations
- Maintain annual budget
- Supervise Department Heads (Administrative, Academic, Automotive, Counseling, and Graduate Assistance)
- Handle all scheduling, time sheets, vacation and sick days, reviews, and employee development for all staff
- Plan, organize, and deploy resources for accomplishing educational and technical goals
- Oversee selection, counseling, discipline, and termination of YATC staff and students
- Approve and renew insurance contracts for employees and facility
- Maintain contracts and permits for services rendered on campus
- Identify, authorize, and oversee any campus repairs and maintenance
- Oversee and participate in any YATC related events
- Schedule and participate in quarterly Board of Director meetings
- Report on department wide developments regarding current students, staff, graduates, and scheduled event
- Maintain community awareness and outreach by being an ambassador for YATC
- Keep in contact with YATC graduates and support their needs
