2013 December E-Newsletter

A message from the Executive Director

Dear Friends of YATC:

Season's Greetings from all of us at YATC! As another calendar page turns and we look toward the beginning of a new year, I always reflect on the good fortune I have to be a part of an organization that is able to help so many young people in a profound way.

While our staff is dedicated to implementing the mission of Founder Jim Moran, and our board members strive to execute his vision, without the ongoing support of friends like you, YATC couldn't make the impact it does. Your generous gifts of time and resources keep the program running, growing and strengthening. Thank you for your support.

From our family to yours, happy holidays and best wishes for a happy, healthy 2014!

Sincerely, Terry Routley

Generous givers make Jim Moran Classic a success

Thank you to the nearly 300 individuals and corporations that contributed to the 2013 Jim Moran Classic, including Founding Sponsor The Cross Country Group. Together with all the 2013 Major Sponsors and donors at every level, the Classic raised enough funds to cover YATC's full annual operating expenses. All 2013 Jim Moran Classic contributors will be acknowledged in the upcoming spring Car Tracks newsletter.

YATC in the news: "Tune Up Turnaround" on WSVN

WSVN 7News aired a TV feature on YATC in September, highlighting the program's goals and curriculum. In addition to profiling 2011 graduate Kewuan Jones and explaining how the program helps at-risk youth turn their lives around, the clip invited local businesses to partner with YATC to provide students and graduates with opportunities to work in their chosen fields. Thank you to WSVN for highlighting the program!

YATC families gather for annual holiday festivities

More than 700 guests joined the party for YATC's 2013 holiday celebration on December 19 for a jolly annual get-together. Students, alumni, staff, board members and families connected for a special evening that was highlighted by a traditional visit from Santa Claus who flew in just for the revelry. In addition to enjoying a delicious holiday dinner, children's crafts, music and prizes, each student and graduate received the gift of a complete holiday meal for 10 to share with loved ones. A warm "thank you" to the many volunteers and staff who put together this great evening.
